About C3 Sunderland
As a church, we exist for Christ, for people and for our city.
In other words, all we do is to help one another grow in our discipleship with Jesus, our connection to each other as his body, and to serve the city we live in and love.
C3 Sunderland is a community that reflects many generations and cultures, which we love to celebrate every time we gather for our Sunday services and our small groups.
We currently meet every Sunday at Webster’s Ropery: church on the banks of the Wear. We have various small groups that meet across our city, and a desire to see a Group established in every postcode of the Sunderland area.
Our Values
Everything we do as a church is shaped by our five values:
FAMILY
Learning together to receive God’s love, practising that love as we build life-giving community.
Ephesians 4.16
16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
HOSPITALITY
Making room so all feel welcome: we love deeply and practically, so our homes becomes places of transformation and growth.
Romans 12.13
13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
OPENNESS
Being open to God and open with each other, as we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
James 5.16
16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
GENEROSITY
Embracing a lifestyle of generosity which reflects who God is.
2 Corinthians 9.10-11
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving.
BEING SENT
Living as people SENT by Jesus, to represent who Jesus is to those in the world we live.
Matthew 28.19-20
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Our Pastors
Hello!
We’re Ian and Kat Harding. We first came to Sunderland in 2013 as part of a church planting team from an existing multi-site church.
We fell in love with the city, became the pastors of the church plant and officially moved here in 2017 (along with our son, Ezra), with a heart to see souls saved and lives transformed.
As a church, we are here for Christ, for people and for our city. We’re passionate about introducing people to Jesus and making room for them to discover the fulness of life He has for them.
Family is so important to us – and it all starts with connection. We’d love to meet you at a Sunday service or a Group soon.
